Our Statement on Vape-Related Health Issues and Illicit Vape Products

‍Many major media outlets have recently reported on the tragic and unnecessary deaths and illnesses in multiple states that are believed to be tied to vaping cannabis products. The US Center for Disease Control (CDC) and several state health departments have begun investigations or issued warnings.  Although CannaCraft is not involved in the CDC warning or investigations, we remain committed to consumer safety and education and feel it is our responsibility to share what we know about the additives and products suspected of endangering consumers and how to avoid them.

Low-quality cannabis and nicotine vape products can cause health problems due to the inclusion of dangerous additives, pesticides, and thinning agents; some of which degrade into stronger toxins at temperatures that vape pens can reach. While certain additives like vitamin E acetate, polyethylene glycol (PEG) and propylene glycol (PG) are legal for use in vaping products, they have not been shown to be safe for inhalation, so AbsoluteXtracts and Care By Design do not use — and have never used — them.

AbsoluteXtracts and Care By Design vape cartridges have instead always been made with 100% cannabis oil, grown without the use of pesticides. Our rigorous internal testing protocols, along with California’s robust testing standards, guarantee that our vape cartridges are pesticide- and additive-free.

When purchasing cannabis vape cartridges (or any cannabis product) it’s important to purchase products made by licensed manufacturers that are tested and comply with relevant state regulations. With the rise of counterfeit vapes being sold under the name of legal and trusted brands, it is equally important to purchase from a licensed dispensary. Lastly, know what ingredients are in those products. Most states require ingredients to be listed on the packaging of cannabis products, with some requiring manufacturers and dispensaries to share lab results with consumers upon request.

Since CannaCraft was founded in 2014, our mission has been to cultivate health and wellness through safe and consistently-dosed cannabis products. Customer safety is of the utmost importance to us and we have worked with leading cannabis researchers and medical professionals to ensure that our products are helping people, not endangering them. While we are not concerned about our products causing health issues, we are extremely concerned about consumer safety and public health. To that end we will provide updates as we learn more about the issue and will continue the dialogue on how to safely purchase and consume cannabis products.
